The obituary notice of Jacqueline DOVER

I grew up visiting my family in Woolton, Liverpool and had the amazing opportunity to move from New York to live in England for a while with my Auntie Ann, Uncle Jack and Nana right next door to Jacquie, her Mum and Dad. What a lovely family. Jacquie was just like her mum and dad … so happy, loving and kind. They were always laughing and enjoying life as if not a care in the world. They really knew how to enjoy every single day. They always treated me like family with open arms and hearts. I was fortunate to have had gotten back in closer touch with her recently thanks to my cousin, Lynne. Jacquie hadn’t changed a bit! Still as happy and as lovely as ever. It’s been about 60 years since I first met her. She’s met my husband after I got married & our daughter when she was 8 weeks old (she’s now 33)and as she grew up. I’ve been able to share photos of our daughter’s wedding and pictures of our brand new grandson (now 12 weeks old). She’s been in the background throughout most of my life and I feel so blessed to have had that. So happy I was able to get in closer touch recently. I will miss her giggles and kindness from 3281 miles away. Rest in Peace Jacquie ❤️

We were all shocked to hear of Jacquie's death, I had spoken to her very recently and she was really cheerful and positive, I was looking forward to seeing her on my visit to Liverpool. Sadly I was not able to see her.
Jacquie and her parents, Lil & Jack & Grandmother were lovely neighbours in Woolton, as I was growing up. I took my own daughters to see Jacquie and Lil often, when they were growing up too on our frequent visits to Liverpool.

Jacquie never missed a birthday, Christmas, or other holiday time! She always sent a card through the post and sometimes an ecard too! Jacquie was so kind and thoughtful.
Her love of literature and history meant we had some really great conversations and she was always so interested in what we were all doing, travels we had, and books we were reading.
I have known Jacquie for a long time, more than 60 years! My daughters have known her all their lives .. we will miss her kindness, her cheerful disposition and her positivity, we will miss chatting on the telephone and exchange of photos and cards.

Jacquie was a really lovely kind and thoughtful lady who will be missed so much by us. She was always so positive and cheerful and was inspiring to talk to, she had such a wide knowledge of literature and history. We shall miss her. Jacquie was a much loved member of the Stevenson family. Cousin to our dad, the late Alan Stevenson, she was always spoken of fondly by him and our mum, Irene. After our family emigrated to New Zealand, she kept in regular contact with us. Her neatly written letters, full of news from her life in Liverpool were gladly received. After dad passed away, Jacquie shared lots of stories of the family history with us, which we treasured. Jacquie was a kind, positive and caring person and will be sadly missed.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Jacquie’s passing. My sister and I are the daughters of Elsie Stevenson, who was Jacquie’s mums first cousin.

We remember Jacquie as a kind and thoughtful lady. She always remembered both my son’s birthdays and corresponded with cards and more recently with emails. She was independent, articulate and empathetic and always positive even though she faced challenges in her life.

Our dad Cliff was a regular visitor with Jacquie up to around 2013. They would venture out for lunch on a Friday. There was always a funny story he would relate to us. He enjoyed the time he spent with her immensely and as he was on his own after our mums passing, we both feel they benefited from each other’s company. Dad passed in 2015, but Jacquie stayed in contact.

We hope that Jacquie is at peace and with her parents Lilian and John (Jack).
