JamesDODSONThe ever-genial James Dodson, formerly of Nelson Place, Bath, passed away peacefully on Monday 13th January 2025, aged 86.

He will be sorely missed by his family, and his many, many friends.

His funeral is to be held at St Luke's Church, Hatfield Road, Bath on Thursday 6th February at 2pm.

James was my lecturer and mentor when I studied Biology at Bristol University. Through his one to one care and attention he taught me how to be a scientist. He loved teaching and he passed on his enthusiasm for biology and science. Not only this but he became a dear friend and he helped me get into medical school for which I will be eternally grateful. I lost touch with him for many years but by complete chance I got to see him again during his last days in hospital where I happened to be working. He was a lovely kind hearted man who always gave you a sweet smile. Rest in peace James, Doctor Dodson.
