Myles PatrickDELANEYIt is with great sadness we announce the passing of Myles on June 24. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Myles, born in Ireland, started his Irish traveller life on April 16, 1953. He moved to England aged eight, and moved to Carrs Village aged 10 along with his Ma, Da and ten brothers and sisters. Myles started work at 16. He then met Carol and they married when he was 19. They continued to live in Haslingden until 2001 and eventually settled in Waterfoot at New Mansion House. Myles was proud of his Irish Travelling heritage, but also enjoyed well deserved fame when he trialled for the England Pool Team and won his place. The newspaper read ‘Irishman trials for England’. Carol’s house was full of trophies. Myles also opened Haslingden’s first burger bar/cafe, Del-Boy’s. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, July 3 at St Mary’s Church, Haslingden 12pm, then Accrington Crematorium at 1pm. Enquires to Georgina Ormrod at Johnson Durning Woods 01706 214498
