MaureenDAWSONMrs Maureen Patricia Dawson, of Barrington Court, Church, Accrington passed away on Wednesday, July 6, aged 80. After leaving school Maureen began work in a factory as a ‘toffee dipper’. After some time she became a carer and eventually trained as an auxiliary nurse, where she worked up to her retirement. Maureen loved watching DVDs of Al Jolson and Tommy/Catherine Cookson. She enjoyed holidays in the UK along with her husband Barry, daughter Jane and partner David and granddaughter Ellie. Maureen was the devoted wife of Barry, much-loved mum to Derek and his wife Shirley, daughter Jane and her partner David. She leaves her sister Marion and brother-in-law Ronnie. She was also sister of the later Thomas, David, Dorothy and her partner, the late John. She was a precious grandma and nanna and a special grandma to Ellie. A funeral service will take place at 1pm on Wednesday, July 20, at Accrington Crematorium, followed by cremation, administered by Rev. Hugh Scriven. Family flowers only please, however donations if desired, requested to V.I.C.S. charity, c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.
