James Smith (Jim), peacefully at home on January 3rd 2008, with his family around him, after a long illness bravely borne, loving husband of Joan, a much loved dad of Gillian, loving father-in-law of Robert and proud grandad of Iain and Peter. A gentle gentleman much loved by his family and many friends. A Committal Service will be held at Tynemouth Crematorium on Friday January 11th at 2.00pm, followed by a Service of Thanksgiving of Jim's life at North Shields, Methodist Church, Hawkey's Lane at 2.30pm. Friends please meet at the church, afterwards all are welcome back to the church hall. Family flowers only please, any donations may be sent for Tynemouth Hospital, League of Friends, c/o E. Turnbull and son, Albion Road, North Shields, NE29 0HE.
