The Mighty Wyn - A great centre forward and, more importantly, a lovely man. I met him several times as a member of the Fairs Club and found that he always had time for everyone.
The Geordies will never forget him, a true legend.

Wyn the Leap, my all time Newcastle United hero, who I had the pleasure of meeting numerous times at Fairs Club events.
I have never seen any other player head the ball so well, or jump up in the air so high as Wyn, the Magpies battering ram centre forward!
Without Wyn the Toon would never have won the Inter Cities Fairs Cup in 1969, and I thank him for that.
I have just got back from Wyn’s funeral in Caernarfon, a five hours drive down this morning, and seven and a half hours drive back to Newcastle, delays, roadworks and motorway closures!
But it was worth the trip, two cars and nine Fairs Club members left at 5am to make sure we got there in plenty of time.
Thanks for all the memories you gave us Wyn, a Legend in your own lifetime.

Sending loving thoughts wyn to you and your family as you are laid to rest in your home town in wales. We miss you so much wyn sitting in Morrisons cafe at atlas mills Bolton where we had a coffee with you and a chat several times a week about your football years with such fascinating stories and pictures that you carried in your scrap book. We also talked about wales your home town and how you loved it. I told u I lived in towyn north wales for 25 years were my late husband was buried and that when I go one day I would return to also be laid to rest there. You replied yes me to. You loved talking about places in wales and special memories you had there. You also talked about your much loved dogs you used to have and the walks with them in Queen’s Park Bolton.
