StephenDARLINGTONIt is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful death of Stephen after a short illness. He passed away at home on Sunday, April 10, aged 65, with his devoted wife Ellen by his side. Stephen was the eldest son of the late Ron and Vera. He was the beloved husband and best friend to Ellen, dearly-loved dad to his four children Stephanie, Nichola, Paul and Emma, father-in-law to Jim and Olivia. He was also a devoted grandad to Brandon, Ashleigh, Ted, Darcie and Delilah, also adored brother to Philip and sister-in-law Michelle, brother-in-law Peter and Carol, uncle to Zoe, Harry, Lisa, Danny, Kurtis and Dominic, cousin to many around the world, and friend to all who knew him. In the 1960s his family emigrated to Brisbane, Australia, where he also has a large extended family. The family eventually moved back to England in the 1970s so that Stephen could marry an English girl. Stephen’s funeral will be on Wednesday, May 4 at 9.40am at Accrington Crematorium. Anyone wishing to attend Stephen’s funeral, please wear whatever you are comfortable in. A special thank you to Dr Mannan, Dr Khan, Kelly and all the staff at Hazelvalley Family Practice, the district nurses, the palliative nurses, and the carers, for all their care and kindness.
