Carole AnneCRONSHAWOn 20th October 2022, Carole Anne Cronshaw passed away at the Royal Preston Hospital with her daughters by her side. Carole leaves her daughters, Melanie, Maxine and Victoria and sons-in-law Roger and Stuart. She was also a devoted Grandma to Cameron, Jake, Miles and Sophie and leaves siblings overseas, Walter, Colin, Pamela and Delia. After leaving school, Carole worked in the drawing office of Joseph Lucas Company where she met her husband of 24 years, Vincent. While living at Laburnum Drive, Oswaldtwistle, they had three daughters, Melanie, Maxine and Victoria and moved to Stanhill Villa, Oswaldtwistle in the late 1970’s. Once her children were older, Carole worked for Hyndburn Borough Council as Senior Graphics Officer, where she used her creative and design skills. She made many friends there and as she enjoyed her job, chose to work beyond her retirement age. Carole will be remembered as a gentle but sharp-witted lady with a great sense of humour, best known for her creative flair. This was evidenced in her hobbies of dress-making, knitting and in her jewellery making (which was available at Haworth Art Gallery for a period). There was nothing she couldn’t ‘make’ for friends, family, school projects and the like. Carole was a keen gardener and after her retirement she enjoyed relaxing and reading in the garden, spending time with her family and watching her Koi Carp and her cats. Carole will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. Carole’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 2nd November at Accrington Crematorium, 3pm. Family flowers only please but donations may be made in memory of Carole to Blood Cancer UK and may be given online or to a family member.
