I knew David when I was a pupil at King Edward's School, Bath. David was the regular peripatetic violin teacher. I'm afraid I was a terrible pupil with no real talent, but David was kind and tolerated of my lack of musical development for years! Frank and David were incredibly hospitable at their house in Bathampton, and the two of them, through dinner parties and the occasional glass of red wine introduced me to the adult world of good conversation, classics, classical music, art and politics. Ever grateful to you David for your kindness, hospitality and your passion for early music - may you rest in peace
