StephenCLARKof Foxhill Terrace, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully in the Royal Preston Hospital, on Sunday, November 27, aged 61 years. Stephen had lived in Oswaldtwistle the whole of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was one of a kind, friendly, dependable and helpful with a quick, dry sense of humour. Oswaldtwistle has lost one of its best. Much loved dad of Arty, dear brother of Tony and Tricia, brother-in-law of Kath and Bob, uncle to Rachel, Debbie and Bethany, dearly loved partner of Mary and also great uncle to Edie, Summer and Hattie. Earlier in his life he worked at Cocker Chemicals and William Blythe. He was employed as a technologist at Carlson Filtration in Barnoldswick, a job which he enjoyed. Stephen had many interests including football, growing vegetables on his allotment and DIY. He worked on the sets and backstage for Oswaldwistle Players and he was a pub quiz team member, but his greatest passion was walking, particularly over the Moors. He was a member of the Long Distance Walkers Association, and had just completed a 100 mile walk in May. His worldwide walking adventures took him to Iceland, New Zealand and Peru. The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 8 at 10.30am at St Paul’s Church, Oswaldtwisle, conducted by FR. Paul Payton, followed by a cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 11.40am. All welcome after at Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club. Family flowers only please but donations if desired to North West Air Ambulance or MND c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.

I only learned of Stephen's passing recently and I am saddened that we hadn't really kept in touch after leaving school. I've got some great memories of Stephen from back in the day, we went to both St. Paul's junior school and then on to Rhyddings County High School after that sharing the same class. We sang in the choir together at St.Pauls Church with a few friends and all in all I will miss him knowing that he has passed on far too early. R.I.P. Stephen 🙏

Sorry to hear of Stephen's passing, only just found out now by accident.... Stephen and I grew up together pals both attending St. Pauls Primary School where we both sang in the choir for St. Pauls Church and then Rhyddings County High and then kind of lost touch. I remember Stephen liked to walk everyhere even as a young lad and obviously carried on right up till his passing. I will always remember him and I'm sad to hear he's gone. R.I.P Stephen till we meet again. Andy Hunneybell 🙏
