NormanCHADWICKOn Wednesday, April 6, peacefully, after a long illness, Norman died aged 84, at Springhill Nursing Home, Accrington. Formerly of Haslingden, Helmshore, Accrington, Oswaldtwistle and Bury. Husband of the late Betty Chadwick, brother to Bill, the late Harold and Les. Dad to Paul, Martin, Neil, Beverley and the late Tina. Father-in-law of Graham, Carol and Kate. Missed and loved Grandad and GreatGrandad. His funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 20, at 12.30pm, with a small service at Johnson, Durning & Woods Chapel of Rest, followed by a burial at Haslingden Cemetery. Employed in his later years at Holland’s Pies, he previously worked on building the M62 motorway, in Manchester. Norman was a long time Bury FC supporter. He loved Test cricket and bowls at Haslingden Bowling Club. Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather opening where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. The smile and laughter continue. Open flowers or donations if desired in memory of Norman, may be made to Dementia UK c/o funeral director Caroline Holden Dewhurst for Johnson, Durning & Woods, Haslingden.

Having done so much over the past 12 years, From the walks for a pint at the Bay Horse, Lord Longworth or the Rose & Crown in Ossy.
The countless walks over White Ash, Fox Hill Bank and then to the chippy for a Chinese or 'small fish'. The holidays to Prestatyn, Minehead, ST Annes, Presthaven and Cyprus. The endless times together watching horse racing and test cricket on TV. The never ending conversations - 'putting the world to right' . That Nuisance " NEB". the clipping of your hair. the phone calls at 3 in the morning. The memories and experiences are unforgettable and I would not change a thing. I'm a better person for having known you . Thank you Norman, see you later , but in the stars next time. love GRAHAM.
