Sydney ArthurCARLYONOn Thursday, 7th August 2025, peacefully at home with his devoted wife, Jen, by his side, Syd, aged 75, of Mount Hawke.

A devoted and cherished husband to Jennifer; a much-loved father to Michael, Shaun & Mandy; dear father-in-law to Lex & Chris; proud grandad to Lyra; dear brother to only surviving sister, Jenny; uncle to many nieces & nephews; a very proud Cornishman and friend to all that knew him.

A celebration of Syd's life will take place at Treswithian Downs Crematorium on Wednesday, 27th August 2025, at 11am.

If desired, donations for the RCHT Sunrise Centre will be gratefully received via the retiring collection, through the online Charity link on the Funeral Notice or c/o the Funeral Director, Andrea Myhill.

Myself and Sydney were school friends back in the early 60’s when I lived at Mawla and we went to Tolgus, I remember the family at there home . I moved away but we met up at a school reunion and when we worked in the china clay industry which is where I learnt of Sid’s passing. RIP my friend. Lewis Mitchell.

To my great uncle syd,
Although we lost touch over the later years of life, i will always remember you as my nans cheeky funny brother, who could always put a smile on my face (well maybe not in this picture) thank you for happy childhood memories of you and your pipe.
I am so sad to hear of your passing.
