Such a sad loss - my greatest condolences to Christine and all John's family. I've so much to thank John for - I first met him when I applied for a job at The NCB Central Engineering Establishment Bretby in 1967 - John was on the interview panel and I got the job and worked for him as my manager in the Rotary Test Laboratory for more than twenty years - he gave me lots of educational opportunities and the benefits of his knowledge and engineering experience. After he took early retirement we continued to meet at the Burton Engineering Society and weekly at hostelries in Burton enjoying a pint together with other friends. Over the years I got to know John, Christine and all the stories about his family - I wish them all well at this difficult time. He'll be greatly missed by myself, the engineers that worked for him and his friends around Burton. Brian Webster.
