Helen, together with her companion Jan Fletcher were both members of the Plymouth Mineral and Mining Club [PMMC]]. After Jan passed away, Helen moved to the Bath area, but remained a member of the PMMC at the time of her passing. When we last spoke by telephone, she told me that she was intending to move back to Tavistock, once work had been completed on her cottage. I will remember her for the political conversations that we enjoyed at club events. A delightful but private lady with strong views on the late Margaret Thatcher! Rest in Peace Helen. Peter Wycliffe-Jones. Chair of the PMMC.

Helen was one of the first people I became friends with when we moved to Plymouth from London, she & her friend Jan Fletcher being members of Plym Valley Heritage which I joined. We went to many events together & enjoyed each others company. I much appreciated Helen's friendship & will miss her. RIP dear Helen
