JeanBURGESSof Chellaston Passed away peacefully on 6th January 2026, just a week before her 80th birthday at the Laurels Care Home in Spondon.

A devoted wife to the late Michael (Mick) loving daughter of the late Clara and Percy, beloved sister to Peter, the late David, Robert, Margaret, Joey, Alan and a dear sister in law. A much loved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Jean was a very special person to all her many friends. Her smile spoke a thousand words and she will be deeply missed.

A service for Jean will be held at Markeaton Crematorium (Main Chapel) on Tuesday 24th February at 12.30pm.

Family flowers only please, however donations to benefit the Stroke Association maybe made online by visiting funeral-notices.co.uk or may be placed in the donation box at the service.

Sending our sincerest sympathy to all Jean’s family. We were privileged to have been friends with Jean for 23 years. She was so full of kindness and fun, a really lovely friend. We shall miss her. We know her family meant the world to her and know that the memories you made together will ensure she’ll live on in your hearts.
