Although we didn’t meet very much at all, you did remind me of Grandad Sid and Uncle Paul. A sibling lost for many years but reunited without the tears. What a pleasure to have met you and spent time in your presence, if only we had known that time was of the essence. Well travelled, well read with a palate for fine red but equally at home with Yvonne’s fish supper and off up to bed. A gentleman with a gentle soul, god bless you Chris Burbanks and god rest your soul.

Chris and I met in the 1970s, I remember helping put a radio mast on his Chilwell house back then. He was always sincere, kind, concerned and often helpful to others. Pat & I had lots of good times and meals together with Chris & Yvonne and he was a brilliant Best Man at our wedding 3 years ago. Chris also knew and spoke his own mind and is impossible to forget. RIP Chris. John & Pat
