WilliamBRUCEPeacefully on Monday, February 21, at Royal Blackburn Hospital, with his family by his side, William, aged 90. Loving husband of the late Winifred, dearly loved dad of Sylvia and Meg the dog, cherished grandad of Alexandra, also a dear uncle of Barbara, Jean, Steven, Katherine and David also father-in-law and friend to many. William worked for Blackburn Council as a painter and decorator, a job which he thoroughly loved. He was a keen gardener and a dab hand when it came to DIY. In his spare time William loved walking, especially fell walking; he enjoyed being accompanied by his loyal companion Meg the dog. William loved the sunshine and would often be seen sat in the garden enjoying all that nature had to offer. He also loved cruises with his beloved wife Winifred; a lot of special memories were made. William loved his family and was very proud of each of them. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. William’s funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, March 11 at 11am.
