DavidBROWNIt is with great sadness to family and friends that David
passed way after a short illness on the 28th November 2025.
The dearly beloved husband of Brenda, father to Andrew and Robert,
grandfather to Drew, Darcey, Theo and Ellie.
His funeral will be held at All Souls Chapel, Loughborough Crematorium on
18th December at 2.00pm.
Donations in lieu of floral tributes will be accepted for Cancer UK.
David spent most of his working life as a Modeller, Patternmaker and
Caster at Hathernware, Hathern Station, Rempstone Road.
Hathernware was a well known manufacturer over the years of Art Deco Cinema Facades
and many other notable Civic Buildings Nationally.
Starting work at 15 and retiring in 2016,
David was presented with an award on his 50 years of service with the company.
Buildings David worked on over his years are Harrods, The Natural History Museum,
Buckingham Palace and the Doulton Fountain in Glasgow,
which is the largest Terracotta Fountain in the World.
In the words of his friend Jez who was once his apprentice,
who runs the works carrying on the ceramic prodution tradition,
" Yes! We did work on some wonderful and lovely building over the years"
