Bernice will be Sadly missed. Bernice volunteered with the Royal Voluntary Service for many, many years, delivering library books to the housebound with our Gateshead Readers at Home service. She is still spoken about in high regard by our readers, and fellow volunteers. Her dedication, caring and nurturing nature are something we could all learn from.
Thank you for your help Bernice. Rest in Peace

Bernice was a friend and colleague of ours in St Paul's Bristol.
We came to Bristol in 1982, when there were riots and very high unemployment, particularly among the West Indian community. Bernice was a non-stipendary deacon in the team ministry, particularly leading worship and serving the people of St Paul's Church. She was very committed to apposing racism in all its forms as well as preaching the Gospel with social justice. She was very supportive of my ministry and family. She opened her home to people in need as well as having her "children" - labrador puppies.
Peter was privileged to be at her ordination as a priest, for which she had campaigned so hard for. Thank you Bernice for your long life of ministry and service as a deacon, priest and social worker.
Your dedication for justice and the support of the marginalised and discriminated against. May you rest in peace and rise in glory.

Bernice was a wonderfully generous and energetic person who always brought joy and laughter to our get-togethers, whenever we were able to meet up.
Hearing of her exploits and many kindnesses, we marvelled at the way she engaged with and supported so many people throughout her life, both locally and internationally, sharing her faith and showing God's love to all.
May she rest in peace now she is with our Lord and Saviour.
