Michael VictorBRIGHTMOREIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Brightmore,
who we lost suddenly on 30th July, 2026 at the age of 80.
Born in Chapeltown, Michael built a life defined by service, curiosity,
and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.
He spent his career serving and protecting the community as a dedicated police officer,
a role that reflected his strong sense of duty and integrity.
Beyond his career, he found wonder in the skies above as an avid amateur astronomer,
sharing his love for the stars and the universe with those around him.
Above all else, Michael was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Anne, his children Susan, Lisa, and David.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Michael's life will take place at Grimsby Crematorium
on Monday 17th August 2026 at 3.45 pm prompt;
please arrive at 3:30 pm to be seated.
No flowers please, by request.
Donations in Michael's memory, if desired, may be made to the local Astronomy Society,
where he proudly served as Chairman.
A collection box will be available at the service.
