KeithBRADBURYIn Loving Memory of Keith Bradbury.
Keith was born in Glossop and became head of his household at 18 years when his father suddenly passed away. Keith played football from an early age and was a talented footballer at Glossop Grammar School, so much so that he trained with Manchester United and played for them for a short while, attending many of their games as a spectator/assistant. Keith completed his National Service, then, after finishing an apprenticeship, he enlisted in the British Army where he served in Nairobi Kenya as a builder and joiner. Whilst there, guerilla fighters the Mau Mau were still at large and a constant threat. His stories of this time were hair-raising. On his return home, Keith used his woodworking talents to become a highly skilled joiner and draughtsman, with a meticulous eye and a love for his craft. With these skills he set up his own business as a builder and joiner, which he accomplished very successfully for the rest of his working life. In later years, Keith was joined in business with his son, Steve.
Keith was a devoted husband to Norma, his wife of 39 years, a great dad to Steven, John and Julie, a wonderful stepdad to Julie and Andy, a loving brother to Jean, a loving and fun grandad to all his grandchildren and favourite Uncle to Stuart and Bruce.
Keith was an integral part of all our lives. He was a wonderful soul. He was generous, warm and always happy. Nothing was too much trouble. Every memory of him is a good one. He helped us all so much when we were starting out in life, and we'll be forever grateful for that. He found joy in the simple pleasures too: watching sports, especially watching Manchester United play, tending to his lovely garden, taking the dogs out for a walk – Sam and later Ruby, getting lost in a good book, and exploring the world with Norma, Jean, his sister, and her husband Allan and all their dear friends. Keith was at his happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends.
Keith, we love you and miss you very much. Your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.
Rest in eternal peace.
