Janet FionaBOYDOn the morning of the twenty ninth of March Janet Fiona Boyd passed away peacefully at St Margaret's Hospice of Scotland. Fiona graduated from the University of Glasgow and enjoyed working as a general practitioner around the country before moving to Dumbarton Health Centre after marrying her husband Alastair Stewart Boyd. Her time as a GP is remembered as impacting positively on people's lives and her kind heart and supportive approach was wonderful. Fiona always enjoyed hillwalking and managed to climb nearly 150 of the Scottish munros. She loved the chance to meet new people on the hills and over the years has been a member of multiple walking groups including Lancraigs walking group and the local NHS group. Sadly, Fiona was widowed at an early age and left on her own to bring up her three young children Helen, Susan and Alan. As a working single mum she did an amazing job, ensuring all three were educated and experienced great adventures. Following her retirement, she continued to contribute to the local community and volunteered in multiple groups to help around Dumbarton including Friends of Levengrove Park, Litter pickers groups, first aider and out of school hours learning. Fiona was also a loving grandmother to baby Lily. All welcome to attend the funeral for Dr Janet Fiona Boyd on Wednesday 22nd of April 12:00 Riverside Church, 13:15 at Cardross Crematorium.
The family would ask if anyone were happy to bring pictures of Fiona please do so to celebrate her life and have displayed on a table at the funeral.
