CaroleBOWNASSIt is with deep regret that we announce the death of Carole Bownass.
Carole passed away peacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital on January 7, aged 87 years.
Beloved mother of Adam and Duncan, dear sister to Eric and the late Barbara
and loving partner of over 40 years to the late Brian Green.
Born in Wallasey, Carole graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in fine art and later went on to teach at Accrington High School for Girls. Her fields of interest extended into all aspects of arts and crafts excelling in all of them and having her work exhibited in Haworth Art Gallery. Carole also had a great interest in archaeology and took part in many digs as well as qualifying as a glider pilot. She was an avid reader and a constant and reliable source of knowledge for all who knew her. Her love and presence in our lives will be sadly missed.
Family, friends, and anyone who knew Carole are welcome to come and say goodbye and help celebrate her life with us. Her funeral will take place at 3pm on Tuesday, February 3 at Accrington Crematorium, family flowers only please, donations to the RSPB in her memory can be made via Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington. 01254 233133.
