SylviaBOWLERBOWLER (NEE ASHWORTH) SYLVIA The funeral took place at St. Mark's Church, Saltney, Nr. Chester on 9th. September of Mrs. Sylvia Bowler who died on 15th. August aged 83 at The Countess of Chester Hospital. Originally from Congleton she married Kenneth in September 1954 and moved into his family's farm, Pedley House Farm and became a farmer's wife. From there they moved into Ivy Cottage, Timbersbrook with their new family. On the death of Ken's father they moved to Dodleston Farm, nr. Chester, then into the suburbs of Chester when Ken's mother died. Once her children grew up she was employed in Garden Lane Surgery in Chester until her retirement. She was mourned by her children, also her grandchildren, and great grandson. Alongside were members of the greater family, neighbours, friends and colleagues, too many to mention individually by name. The service was conducted by The Reverend Canon John Stanley OBE, with entrance music of Handel's Largo, reflection music- The theme from Swan Lake on piano and exit music 'Time to Say Goodbye' from Phantom of the Opera sung by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli. The Hymns during the service were The Lord's my Shepherd and Lord of All Hopefulness. The burial took place at Hawarden Cemetery, Nr. Chester where the elder of her two sons had been buried. Her wake was held at The Red Lion, Penyffordd. Donations were made to Alzheimer's Society, Cancer Research UK and Mind. Her funeral was conducted by J C Clarke and Sons of 3C Croft House, Hoole Rd, Chester CH2 3NQ where further donations may be sent if wished. Flowers were by Gaynor Jones, [email protected]. All of Sylvia's family would like to thank friends, colleagues and neighbours for attending and for their kind expressions of sympathy. Packets of Wildflower Meadow Mix seeds, originally on sale for £1.00 each, were left in church in aid of Survive Cancer's Sepsis/Septic Shock Clinical Trial (Canceraction.org.uk) Please could anyone who has a free packet make a donation to the charity for their production costs, Thank you
