Richard JohnBIRDRick died unexpectedly following surgery on Father's Day.
He was a much-loved father, grandad and friend,
and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Rick loved people, parties and good music,
and had a gift for bringing all three together.
He grew up working the steelworks in Scunthorpe,
and in later years settled in Burgh Castle, Norfolk,
with his beloved wife Eve, who passed away three years ago.

We warmly invite family, old friends and former colleagues to join us in celebrating his life
at 1pm on Friday 24th July at Simpsons Corner Memorial Centre, Ashby.
Please arrive for a 1pm start.

Afterwards, everyone is welcome to join us for a wake at the Beckwood Pub, also in Ashby,
to raise a glass in his memory.

Dress smart, but not necessarily black.
Rick always liked to be a little different, so feel free to bring some colour.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that any donations be made
to the local air ambulance.

His departure will leave a big gap for all who knew him,
but his warmth, his love of a good party
and his gift for friendship will stay with us always.

For any questions, please contact Rick's daughter, Emma,
at [email protected] or
Jason Threadgold Funeral Directors.

Sorry to hear of Ricks passing. We worked together at North Lindsey College many years ago 80-90s. He was well liked by both staff and students. He contributed to the development of NVQ qualifications in Welding and Fabrication when NVQs were first introduced. A tireless worker both academically and practically. Sadly we lost touch in the following years. Condolences to his family may he rest in peace, leaves us with lots of fond memories . Richard
