We were so very sorry to read of my cousin Sean's recent passing. Although I hadn't seen him in many years we had reconnected via social media and it was so nice to be able to read about his happy life in Scotland and that he had so many good friends and a loving family around him. Thoughts are very much with his family and friends at this difficult time. Goodnight and rest in peace Sean.

It was a terrible, unexpected shock to hear that my younger cousin had died. We'd never seen much of each other, living in different corners of the UK, but I always imagined we'd meet again someday. Sean wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but forged his own path in life. He had clearly found a happy place in Scotland, and the volume of tributes show that he was surrounded by many friends and a loving family. Rest in peace, Sean XXX

I was deeply saddened to hear about Sean. In September 1970, we both started at the same Primary School - St Bernadette's in Hillingdon and then the same Secondary School Douay Martyrs in Ickenham nr Ruislip. I often visited Sean the family home in Ryefield Avenue Hillingdon during the school holidays in the 70's. They were really wonderful times.
I have a special memory of when Sean's Dad Alan took us both to the Houses of Parliament in 1978 i think.
We queued up for well over 90 minutes to get in. We sat in in the Strangers Gallery trying to see if we could spot any famous people.

Sean had a lovely caring personality. At secondary school he was always checking if I was ok and making sure that my asthma hadn't flared up... which it often did especially in cold weather. If my asthma got worse he would help carry me down the stairs to the school medical room.

After school my Dad would pick me up in his car. Sean would often get dopped off near his home.
We lost touch after we left school and went to college in London.
The last few years I tried to get in contact again and left messages.

I have many photos of our school days. But the photo I have attached is perhaps the most poignant and one of my favourite.
It was taken in December 1971 at St Bernadette's Catholic School in Hillingdon for a special Christmas event for the parents/guests. We sang Jingle Bells and 'Christmas' was spelt out with large placards.

The photo was published in the Hillingdon Gazette. Thankfully my Mum cut out the article and kept safe - it's now 54 years old!

I'm sitting down on the right of the photo clenching my fists.
Sean is standing up in the row behind me on the far left of the photo. He is holding up the letter H.

Sean was a month younger than me. I always remember his birthday always fell during the summer holidays.
In December 1971 we were both aged just five years old
