Ray (Raymond Ashley)BETTSBETTS - RAY (RAYMOND ASHLEY), July 12, 2021. With deep sadness we announce the death of Ray. Devoted husband to Andrea, wonderful dad of Liv & Jay, son of Ray Snr and Lyn, little brother of Sarah, and friend to so many. Ray was loved deeply by all. Successful, handsome, funny, kind, generous. ..an endless list of qualities. Ray's funeral is Friday 6th August 3pm at Thornton Crematorium followed by a short gathering at Waterloo Rugby Club to show our love & respect to Ray, and support to his dear family & friends saddened by his passing.

So sorry to have just heard of Ray's passing. I knew him at Sacred Heart school, and although we never mixed in the same circles, I remember him well as someone who worked hard for what he wanted and was loyal to those who were close to him. My heart goes out to the family, he will be greatly missed

Just heard the news last night, I’m still in absolute shock - me, my mum Zena and my ex Ang and daughter Satine who all knew him too are just devastated, I’ve known Ray for about 25 years - literally the nicest, handsomest, funniest and kindest bloke I can think of with the best smile and cheeky banter. He was always lovely to my mum too and really looked out for her, a true gentleman and just a stand up guy who everyone loved. I just don’t know what to say really apart from Ray was a guy who could walk in any room anywhere and light it up, he didn’t have an enemy in the world. Did me a lot of favours and I will really, really miss him. All my love to Andrea and the kids, there’s no meaningful words I can say to them. The worlds just lost one of the truly good guys and we’re all lucky to at least have known him, he was so special. Gonna miss his quips.
