GeorgeBENTINGMr George Edward Benting, of Park Street, Accrington, passed away at The Woodlands Care Home, Clayton-le-Moors after a short illness on Thursday, October 7, age 92. George was the son of the late Thomas Edward Benting and Gladys May Benting. He leaves his son Phillip, daughter Hazel, daughter-in-law Donna, brothers Harold, Gerald and David, sisters-in-law Olive and Pat, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George is now reunited with his beloved wife Ellen. George was a member of the Canine Club, Accrington from 1960 until he passed away - where he loved to play snooker until recent years. He was also a keen darts player. George was much loved by his family and will be sadly missed. Phillip would like to say a special thank you to Donna and Key2Support for their love and care of George over the last eight years, enabling him to live at home until the last few weeks of his life. George’s funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, October 19 at 2.20pm. Family flowers only please; donations in memory of George are being gratefully received on behalf of Woodland Care Home Activity fund in appreciation of their care of George in his final days c/o funeral director Champ Funeral Services, Clayton-le-Moors.
