GaryBARKERIt is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Barker, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, aged 66, after a long battle with ill health. Gary died surrounded by his loving family. Gary was a wonderful man who devoted his life to his family, right up until the very end. Gary was a loving husband to his wife Debbie, a fantastic dad to his children: Gavin, Laura, Kirsty, Jenna and Amy, and a superhero to his 10 amazing grandchildren. Gary enjoyed many years at Bacup Shoe and later found a passion for delivering prescriptions for the Pharmacy. Gary enjoyed visiting Rossendale Hospice every week and benefited greatly from the support provided to him. Gary's funeral will take place on Wednesday, October 8. Gary will begin his final journey from Knight and Boys funeral home in Stacksteads at 10.30am, followed by a service at Burnley Crematorium at 11.30am. Gary's life will then be celebrated at The Circle in Bacup. The family would like to invite everyone who knew Gary to come and pay their respects and to join us in celebrating Gary's life. Family flowers only. Donations to Rossendale Hospice and Ronald McDonald Children's Charity. Please wear something blue in Gary's memory (no jeans or tracksuits).
