Deepest sympathies to Mike's family. He was immensely kind to me when I was growing up - and he wrote the references for my first jobs. Will never forget you and Betty. RIP Mike.

Love, Gary Bell and family xx

I was at Mike's cremation today. I worked with him in Johnno's in Warwick Street and Mill Street over 50 years ago. Before that, when I was ten, I got Ian St John's autobiography as a present. Mike took it, gave it to Ian Callaghan and he got it signed by all the Liverpool players. It was a beautiful gesture and something I will never forget. Mike and Betty were a lovely couple and will be greatly missed. Mark Bell

Mike you were such a special person, loved by everyone. Great memories of growing up with you in Caryl Gardens will never leave me.
Later in Holmefield Ave you and Betty were so kind and helpful to all of us and we'll never forget you.
Rest in peace Mike, reunited at last with your Betty.
