MaryAUSTINDied aged 101 years old at White Ash Brook Care Home on November 16. Mary worked for the Ribble Travel office for many years, also Mullards and Joseph Arnolds where she retired aged 60. Then she did seven years voluntary work at Age Concern and three years for Oswaldtwistle Meals on Wheels. Mary was an original and life-long member of St. Mary’s Ladies and was President and Treasurer for many years. She was in St. Mary’s ladies choir. She loved holidays in Scotland with Rob, her late husband. Puzzle books and a jigsaw fanatic were her main hobbies. She leaves son Les, Susan, his wife, Mark and Stephen grandsons and Sophie, Lucy and Thomas, her great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. A requiem mass will be held on Thursday, December 7 at St Mary’s RC Church Oswaldtwistle at 10.15am, led by Father O’Brien, followed by Committal at Accrington Crematorium at 11.40am.
