MarianneATKINSONMy mother, Marianne Vera Atkinson passed away on 9th January 2026 aged 90 years.

Mum will be remembered by her friends, bus drivers, former students and their families and the many citizens of Nottingham to whom she offered a sweet and kind words. Marianne is survived by her son Peter and his family.

Marianne moved to Nottingham in 1996 to prepare exhibitions of her late husband Howard Atkinson's poems, prose and pictures. She gave private tuition in English with work especially structured for dyslexia and school exams. She volunteered to run a German language class at St. Ann's Neighbourhood Centre, later at the Lincolnshire Poacher.

Marianne's friends are welcome to commemorate her life with us at 12 noon on Friday, 6th February 2026, at Wilford Hill Crematorium. For more details, contact
