In tears we watched you sinking, we watched you fade away, our hearts by now had broken, you tried so hard to stay. But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain, we would not wish you back to suffer that again. What we'd give if we could say "Hello Nan" in the same old way. To hear your voice, to see your smile, to sit and chat with you awhile. So if you have a Nan, cherish her with care, for you'll never know the heartache till you see her vacant chair.
