James WinstanleyALLENIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Winstanley Allen, who left us peacefully on the 11th of August 2025, aged 72.

Born on the 25th of November 1952. Son of the late Dorothy & Fred, twin of the late Frederick & brother to Susan, brother-in-law to Martin, treasured uncle to Zoë, Jonathan and Nicola, great uncle & friend to many especially in the music and theatre arena.

James will be remembered with love, laughs and fondness by all who knew him.

A private family celebration of his life was held in his memory on the 26th of August, 2025. James will be greatly missed, but forever cherished in our hearts.

The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers and donations to be made to 'Health Tree Foundation' for the benefit of the Intensive Care Unit at Scunthorpe General Hospital c/o

So sorry to hear this sad news. James played for me at my lessons with Elsie Hill, and when I performed solo recitals. We also shared a love of G&S. He had a lovely tenor voice.
