Chester owned a local demolition company for many years and, for a short time, a nursing home on the Isle of Wight. In the 1980s/90s, he was often a regular at various spots around Cheltenham, including The Cotswold and the former Duck and Pheasant.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie; his son, Edward; his sisters, Linda and Judith; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
There will not be a formal funeral service. Instead, the family will hold a private celebration of Chester's life.
