DerekAIREY(Gosforth) Peacefully on 21st April 2023 surrounded by his loving family, aged 80 years, Derek. A beloved Husband of Patricia. Dearly loved Father, Step-Father, Brother, Grandad and Great-Grandad. Derek will be forever loved and sadly missed by all his loving family and many friends. Would friends please meet for service at West Road Crematorium on Wednesday 10th May at 2:00pm. At the family's request black clothing is not required. Family flowers only please at Derek's request. Donations in lieu if desired to The Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association which was very close to Derek. A collection plate will be available at the Crematorium. Derek's family would like to extend their invitation for all to join them after the service to continue the celebration of Derek's life at The Gosforth Grand Hotel. I've just found this while I was checking to see how Derek was doing. It is very saddening to find. He was a great lad, the RAF Gibraltar MT community will be saddened too. God bless you Derek. You were very well liked, by so many of us. Sympathies to all his family.

I knew Derek from my time at Asda and worked with him on some of his many fundraising events. Such a lovely kind, funny and generous man. He will be sorely missed.
