Janis was an integral part of the girls life, she was like a second Mam, and alongside Lar always made me feel so welcome in their family home. I have such fond memories of spending time at the “Riley Household”. You never had to ring the front door bell as Janis would always shout “it’s open” just like her heart, very open and welcoming.
Janis was kind, generous and had a big heart for her family and family meant everything to Janis. When I became a Mam she extended her heart to my daughter and would always ask after the girls and their children.
Janis brought joy with her big smile and bubbly personality.
I am thinking of her 3 daughters Michaela, Simone, Monique and her wonderful husband Lar.
Janis and Lar created a wonderful legacy together. Their love, kindness and humour lives on in all 3 of their daughters and grandchildren.
I will miss her, but even in the midst of this terrible grief, I am so grateful to have known Janis. I hope Janis realises that as she rests in that well-deserved peace, she should know this: her goodness, her kindness, and her love lives on, but more than that, Janis will live on forever in the hearts of all those blessed enough to have known her.
