To my darling wee Mum,
You never lost that smile or that cheeky sense of humour even though Alzheimer’s took most of you away from us . I prefer to remember you as that feisty ; funny ; beautiful and well turned out woman that you were who adored our Dad and who lived for her Saturday nights out with Dad,Olive
and George and Rowland and Pat. Many a Bacardi was consumed and much laughter and dancing . I remember you phoning me each Sunday as you and Dad tried to finish the Sunday Mail crossword with our help . You sent it away each week yet never won a thing !
You loved looking after “ Grandma’s boy” and it was so funny when you stood him at the window to wave goodbye and he refused to look at me in case I took him from you .
The last few years of your life were very different but when asked if you were happy you’d smile and say “ Oh hell aye” and that was good enough for us .
You’re back now with Dad and the crew and your beloved parents and siblings . I’ll miss you forever Mum- you always told me how you liked my hair or how I was dressed and I think about you all the time when I’m buying something to wear . If I think you’d approve then it’s purchased . Sparkle on Lady Catherine .
Rest In Peace xxxxxxxxx
