My favourite, lovely Physics teacher who I was lucky enough to be taught by for 6 of my 7 years at Rhyl High School.
He was always super supportive of my interest in science whilst, I suspect, being simultaneously frustrated by my lack of ability! I’m sure he must have been gobsmacked that I went on to do a Physics degree and ended up working as a neutron scientist at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, but I hope I did him proud.
I felt the need to write to him at Christmas time and was delighted to receive a response just 3 days later, which brought tears to my eyes, as I immediately recognised the same familiar handwriting on the envelope that was scattered throughout all of the “set work” I completed during my A-level classes.
I’m so sorry that I did not get the chance to reply.
Much love to his beloved family that he spoke so proudly about in his letter. He referred to Brenda as his soulmate that he felt so lucky to have met during a one off visit to a dance hall in Richmond. ♥️
I’m so grateful to have been taught by him and will think of him often.
