The obituary notice of David James (Dave) LYNCH

I worked with Dave at Stoke on Trent college and he was one of life’s true gentlemen, always pleasant, kind and with a great sense of humour. He was a great story teller and one of those rare people who you could listen to all night long. His travel tales were so interesting and full of facts, it made you want to go there.
He will be remembered by so many with a genuine fondness.

Dave Lynch had great loyalty to Stoke on Trent College during his career there and I have many memories of him as a colleague and (later) as his line manager. A great character above all, never used 1 word when 50 would do, a great sense of humour and diligent to the nth degree. I remember his mixed metaphors in particular - once in a meeting when others seemed reluctant to speak he came out with "Shall I be the sacrificial lamb and open the bowling..." So sorry to hear of his passing and sincere condolences to his family. Andy Robinson.

So saddened to hear of Dave's passing. I worked alongside him on the late shift and Saturday mornings at the College. He was always so pleasant with a great sense of humour. He loved to tell you all about his holidays around the world with his wife Sue. He will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Dave.
