To Clark Danial and Nathan,
My sincere condolences.
I remember when you all arrived on Wyngate Drive and we first got to see what a lovely person Kar-li was. Always a smile, always a hello. This was the same at badminton.
You are all a wonderful family and I am so very sorry for your loss.
I feel honoured to have known her.
My thoughts with you all at this time.

I met Kar-li over 20 years ago at M&S. Kar-li was a person with a lovely smile and always there to help, calm and controlled. You were always there for me ,asking about my family and making sure I'm ok. I remember once I wasn't well and you kept messaging me to see if I'm getting better, and when you knew I was driving myself to go to a different doctor's to mine you came and drove me, didn't let me drive and I was so grateful! You made so proud when you asked me to be sponsor to become Catholic, you chose me ,thank you Kar-li for being such a lovely caring friend ,you are truly one lovely person , always in our hearts, miss you ❤️

I took mum to Rome a year before her illness progressed. We were able to get really close to the new Pope and, you can hear mum shout “Daniel, give it to him” among the chanting of ‘Papa Leone’. Next thing I knew, Pope Leo was being tossed our knitted Pope doll. Then I gave my mum the biggest hug, you can hear her say ‘not so tightly’ (in Cantonese) and whispered in her ear, ‘I love you, and I hope he does pray for you’.

That was mum, encouraging her sons.

On another trip to Assisi, Italy, I bought this plaque for mum. It’s originally in Italian, though it reads:

Mum. A thought for you, Mum, who are a fundamental figure in my life. Your love has been a path for me, accompanying me at every stage of my growth Thank you for filling my life with smiles, kisses, hugs and affection. I love you
