TerenceJOHNSTONETerry passed away peacefully at home in Nottingham on 1st March, aged 87 years, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Diane for over 56 years, devoted dad to Timothy and Daniel, father-in-law to Lindsey and Samantha, much loved brother of Alex and Ruth, brother-in-law to Sandra, Beth and David, proud grandfather to Luke, Samuel and Charlotte, and a dear uncle.

Terry was a friend to many and dedicated much of his life to education. He worked for many years as a teacher at North Cleethorpes School, Western School, Grimsby College and the University of Nottingham, as well as teaching in Canada, Kenya and France. He touched the lives of countless students and colleagues throughout his long and valued career.

A service to celebrate Terry's life will be held at St Mary on the Sea Church, Heneage Road, Grimsby (DN32 9DX) on Monday 13th April 2026 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception at Cleethorpes Cricket Club, Chichester Road (DN35 0HZ).

No flowers please. If desired, donations in Terry's memory may be made to CAFOD or Aid to the Church in Need via their respective websites.

Terry will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Such a great loss. Deepest sympathies goes to the family, but fortunately they have many memories to look back on. and each other to lean on. His ready wit and gentle manner will be sadly missed by all who knew him . Rest easy Terry
