There are not enough words to express the loss of this great man John Hodkinson. You welcomed me into your family and always made me feel loved. He was the model of what a man should be and aspire to. His warmth towards all those he meets in life, may it be old mates, beloved family members or the strangers he treats like long lost friends during his adventures on various beach islands he loved to explore. He had a joy for life and made you feel no matter what was going on, everything would be ok. I will miss you the rest of my days John as you can never be replaced. We can all only attempt to be the man you were. Will always love you mate.

My dad was so much more than a father, he was my constant, my compass, my safe place and one of the greatest loves of my life. He faced more than most with extraordinary strength, yet never lost the kindness, humour and quiet steadiness that made him who he was. He loved his family fiercely, treasured his grandchildren, and was always there through every chapter of my life. I will miss his voice, his wisdom, our travels, our coffees and cocktails, and simply knowing he was there. Dad, you were my hero in life, and you always will be. What an honour it was to be your daughter. 💔
