AlanHARRISONIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Harrison. Husband to Jane (Jill) for 59 years and Father to Susan, Christina, Iain and David.

Alan was raised in Coventry, living with his Father, Mother, Sister and three Brothers in the Willenhall area. He attended Whitley Abbey school before leaving to work as an apprentice electrician at Spicers in Hertford Street. Once 18 he left Coventry to earn his Green Beret, joining 42 Commando in the Royal Marines where he served for 9 years. Upon leaving the armed forces Alan retrained in plumbing and heating, moving back to the city from Devon to work with Shankster Heating in Coventry until the late 1980s. In the 1990s, he worked for B&Q on the Holyhead Road, and for Coventry Plumbing and Heating Supplies on Swan Lane. He latterly worked at Halstead Glen Dimplex in Warwick before retiring to Duffield in Derbyshire in 2009.

Alan enjoyed his retirement until he sadly suffered two strokes in 2025 which left him unable to walk or talk properly. In his final few months, his wishes were to remain comfortable and to be at home, where he passed away peacefully on Friday 27th February 2026.

In accordance with his wishes, there will not be a funeral.

Alan and family relied upon the home hospice care of a local charity in his final days, who were absolutely amazing and were with him when he passed away.
