I came to Grimsby in 1992 as an assistant teacher and through teachers and other assistant teachers, I got to know David. We would meet once a week at Smugglers - David, Brian and a couple of Germans. We celebrated birthdays together, enjoyed British German friendship and thanks to friends like David, felt very much at home in Grimsby. After I went back to Germany, we stayed in contact and last met in November 2022. David was a nice man who could comment on the unusual or slightly absurd side of daily life in a way that made you laugh a lot.
Goodbye David
Chris
