It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darryl Gibbons 'Dashin', who died peacefully on Saturday, the 6th of December 2025, at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Jacqui, loving father of Stephanie & Natalie, father-in-law to Ian, dearest grandad to Madeleine, Sienna, and Penelope.
Darryl's funeral service will be held at Markeaton Crematorium, in the main chapel, on Wednesday, 7th January 2026, at 10:00 am. A wake will follow at The Horseshoes, Long Lane, DE6 5BJ, where all are warmly welcome to join and share more memories.
At the family's request, family flowers only please. However, should you wish to make a donation in Darryl's memory, these will go towards supporting Ward 2 at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital. Donations may be made online or as you leave the chapel, and the family thank you for your kindness.
