extract from the Eulogy. A devoted mother, a loving wife, a cherished grandmother, great grandmother,
a much‑loved sister, Cousin, Aunt and loyal friend.
Mum was a woman whose gentle strength and unwavering compassion shaped every part of her life.
Caring for others wasn’t just something Mum did — it was part of who she was.
Through her long career as a midwife and nurse, she stood beside families during some of the most precious and most challenging moments of their lives. She welcomed countless babies into the world, soothed anxieties, offered comfort with kindness, and brought calm where there was fear.
Her touch, her presence, and her warm heart made a difference that will live on across generations.
To her family she gave the very best of herself.
She created a home full of warmth, and understanding.
She provided care for our Dad and her siter Lynda with utmost dedication.
She listened without judgement, encouraged without hesitation, and faced every hardship with grace.

To her friends, she was steady, supportive, and full of quiet wisdom. She was always ready to help where she could and her home was a place where all were welcomed. She took in students from all over the world. Susan from America, even named her first baby Faith in honour of my mother. Which is indeed a big tribute.
Mums faith was a constant source of strength throughout her life.
She belonged to various Baptist churches, and her final church family was Gendros, where she made many friends and enjoyed many happy times, including her 90th birthday. Her faith shaped her kindness, her resilience, and the way she cared so deeply for others.

Fay had this message for us all to read at her Funeral :-
“Remember your past and all that past generations have done for you, let it inspire you, but live for the future and thrive.
Be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. Don’t shed tears that I and others have gone, smile because we lived and all we have left you.
Remember to dress up warm and take care of each other. I love you all.”

Mum leaves behind so much love, so many stories, and countless moments that we will hold dearly.

Her life was a gift — to our family, to her friends, to her church,
and to everyone she cared for.
Though she is no longer with us in the way we long for,
her spirit remains in every act of kindness we show,
every moment of courage we find,
and every loving memory we hold.
Today, we thank her.
We honour her.
And we carry her with us — always.

I first met Faith when she became a resident at Campian when I regularly visited my husband. She always had a smile and we had loads of chats. She was very kind and caring to any other resident who seemed a bit down and she never failed to ask me how my husband was. I last saw her when she was with her family having a Xmas lunch and again she asked about John and was sad when I had to tell her that he had sadly passed away. Deepest sympathy to her family and apologies for not being able to attend her service.

Ms Fay became like another grandmother to me when I studied abroad in Swansea in 2009. She would frequently have some of us American students over after church on Sundays, and her house was the happy, loving warmth I very much needed while I was homesick during those cold winter months. I also lover her little dog, Missy, who provided fluffy cuddles while I missed my pets back home. Ms Fay’s generosity will always hold a very special place in my heart.
