RachelEverettBeloved daughter of the late Anne and Phillip Lynd-Evans, and heartbreakingly missed sister of Huw, Rachel died on 22 October 2025 in the ITU at Glangwili Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Gloucester, Rachel lived most of her life in Nottinghamshire before moving to Cynghordy in 2020 to support her mother following the sudden death of her father.
Following a three decade career organising and managing antiques fairs nationwide, Rachel retrained as a landscape gardener, quickly building up a thriving business that she loved.
A very active member of the community, Rachel organised the annual Llandovery Sheep Festival and was a proud member of Llandovery Rotary Club.
Her death came far too early and was a huge shock to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Due to her death occurring exactly a week after her mother, there will be a joint funeral at Llandingat Church, Llandovery at 1:30pm on Saturday 14th February. This service will be an extravagant celebration of a life cut short, with no holds barred in honouring Rachel's passions for music and creativity. There will be a cremation service at Llanelli Crematorium on Monday 16th February at 2pm. All are welcome.
Rachel had a keen interest in style and was a talented designer and seamstress. To honour her passion, the dress code for the funeral can simple be described as "FABULOUS". There are no restrictions on mourners' interpretation of this - sombre or colourful, we just ask that you dress FABULOUSLY! It will be impossible to be overdressed, so long as you feel FABULOUS, nothing is off limits.
Donations to Hywel Dda Health Charities (for the benefit of the Intensive Therapy Unit at Glangwili Hospital) will be kindly received by IC & SM Davies Funeral Directors, Britannia House, Llandovery, SA20 0DD. Tel 01550 720636.
