Dear Lena and family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Ian's passing. Ian was a truly kind and generous neighbour, always willing to share his time and knowledge. I will never forget the evening he showed me a lunar eclipse through his homemade telescope-it was a special moment that reflected his passion and generosity. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Please accept our heartfelt condolences, and know that our thoughts are with you during this most difficult of times. Hummaad and Rosalind Ahmed

Ian and Lena Duncan were neighbours of mine and my late parents , Len and Babs Druce, for many years in Cochrane Park . I moved to Canada in 1983 but whenever I and my husband , Barry , visited the UK Ian and Lena were an important part of our visit and a ‘cuppa’ and a warm welcome was always present at their house - sometimes also even a pet rabbit or ‘grand dog’ When my Dad could no longer drive a distance Ian would always be the first to offer to pick us up and drop us anytime and anywhere at whichever airport we landed and departed . Both Ian and Lena were such kind and lovely neighbours, I came to look on them as family. Their relationship was one I witnessed as being full of love and laughter . Ian a big, strong , teddy bear of a man -one of a kind . They visited Canada a few years ago and stayed with us in Calgary - A treasured memory for us . We will miss Ian as , I am sure , all his family and friends will but we are all so lucky to have been privileged with his presence in our lives 💕.

Ian was a big man, in stature and in personality. He was a great mentor for my late husband, Geoff, and he, Lena & all their family were so welcoming when I met them.
You’ll be so missed by many, Ian.
Love to all the family xxx
