I knew Norma for many years playing tennis with her, Jim and a family friend, another Jim. Norma was fearsome at the net and, if you were silly enough to send the ball anywhere in her vicinity she would inevitably make it impossible for the opposition to return the ball and she would win the point!
Norma was a fantastic knitter and I used to watch enviously as she created sweaters with the most intricate patterns. She made it look easy which I'm sure it wasn't.
Norma always asked about my family, especially my late husband during his illness, She had an excellent memory for names and events in the lives of those she either knew personally or knew about.
She spoke so very fondly about her own family, was devoted to Jim and super-proud of her daughters, Sarah and Fiona and her grandsons Tom and Sam.
Norma will be missed but not forgotten.
Wendy.
